The compliment of being called "different". My cause is helping community members at a difficult time in their life with affordable housing options.
Throughout my first decade in real estate, the two repeat compliments I’ve received is that I am different and a square peg in a round hole in this industry. I love those compliments, and if you’ve met me at an open house and thought this, your first impression is right – I am.
With me, what you see is what you get – no prepared scripts or pressure tactics. I will tell you to not sell if I think it is the right decision, and give you renovation ideas instead. Work colleagues and community members I have worked with over the last 35+ years will tell you I am genuine, trustworthy, loyal, enthusiastic and ethical – as well as a natural organiser. Nine years at Brisbane City Council, 5 years in the private sector, and 16 years in the Commonwealth Government working variously in human resources, overseas aid and multi-faith community harmony initiatives has given me a unique skill set. I go the extra mile at everything I do, your privacy will always be respected, and I am honest and frank in my communication with you – no tricks, no games, no predatory behaviour – and it shows in the results.
I’ve been fortunate to be a Top Ten Agent of a family company for 7 of my 10 years in real estate, received numerous awards and secured multiple government tenders. From 2012, my Investors Can Help project has assisted our ACT refugee community to secure affordable housing. In 2017, I became a member of the ACT Government’s Consultative Group on Affordable Housing and Homelessness – and was finally able to merge my social policy background with my real estate career.
Selling your home is not just a one dimensional step in any person’s life, and I’m proud to be a unique agent who thinks and understands the broader issues, while still delivering fantastic results with my clients. My repeat and referral business is over 70% which is unique in our industry – and the greatest measure of a successful agent.

"I'm passionate about exceeding my client’s expectations. My cause is supporting those affected by Alzheimer's disease in our community."
Kate Murphy is a Licensed Agent in ACT and NSW with real estate industry experience spanning over 13 years. Kate’s commitment to delivering a professional service is evident in the long-standing relationships she develops with her clients. Prior to real estate, her career managing a family small business, as well as her time in the banking sector, ensures Kate has a wide range of experience.
Whether Kate is managing the sales process or overseeing the business operations, Kate is known for her real estate knowledge, her initiative, business expertise and down-to-earth friendly nature.
Kate is a valuable member of the Christine Shaw Properties family and mirrors the underlying philosophy of Christine Shaw Properties – which is to help those less fortunate. As a long-time resident of the Canberra region, Kate is passionate about giving back to the local community, specifically those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. With the disease impacting those close to Kate, she is committed to supporting research for the disease in the hope of one day finding a cure.
The choice to employ Kate not only in her capacity as an agent, but also to appoint her as the Operations Manager of a new company was easy, according to Christine: “Kate’s skills across multiple facets of business is rare, with an ability to think broader across business imperatives through to smaller operational matters. There would be no-one else I would trust.”
“I have had a long career in Administration and Customer Service and believe in giving clients the most reliable and stress-free experience possible. I have a strong interest in Aged Care and supporting the elderly in our community.”
Michele Dingle has had over 12 years as a Senior Office Manager for a Canberra real estate company where she trained and mentored new Administration staff while supporting a number of leading Agents within the industry. She has worked alongside Christine Shaw for the last 10 years and shares the same underlying philosophy as her.
Michele brings a wealth of experience both in administration and customer service. She prides herself on her attention to detail and making sure that the office flows smoothly and that staff and clients are given all the support they need to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Michele is always looking to grow and extend herself and is in the process of becoming a Registered Agent. While her focus will be on running the day to day activities of the office, she will have the ability to fill other roles as the need arises or answer client enquiries without delay.
Christine Shaw is glowing in her praise of Michele. “I can’t believe my luck that I have the opportunity to have Michele Dingle join our team. Her integrity and loyalty and ability to problem solve anything over the last 10 years of working together is beyond comparison. When I learned she could join us, I just knew we were on the right path forward and nothing will ever be impossible. I can rest easy our clients are always in good hands.”

Those who meet Emily will know in a very short time that her accomplishments are very detailed, and certainly different to many of her peers.
Emily has been working in hospitality and sales for the last 5 and a half years, being promoted to a team leader role at 18. Emily’s outstanding customer service and problem solving skills have allowed her to manage a wide variety of situations, and she is a valuable asset to all of our clients.
Her organisational skills juggling multiple priorities are commendable, and her passion for continual learning is evident every day. Emily has already expanded her duties beyond administration, to now include all aspects of sales and marketing. As part of her daily enthusiasm for all things concerning real estate, she has recently started her training to be a registered agent.
Emily has a passion for people and has always known that she wanted a career in assisting people. Her cause is to help Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC). Each year, Emily organises, plans, hosts and advertises a Talent Quest fundraiser for RMHC. In the first year she raised $4800; and in her second year raised $6800 – all this supported by a group friends. This is now an annual event, with RMHC supporting Emily.
Emily is also a dancer and dance teacher – she enjoys challenging herself through dance and feels the satisfaction of seeing her students develop in both dance and in their life skills.
As Christine has said many times, “we found gold the day we interviewed Emily. The most important thing to Emily is helping others and giving back to the community and the people around her, which matches perfectly with our company values.” As Emily herself has said “What better way to help the community than helping owners sell their prized home, and to help buyers find their new dream home?”
