Guidance During Covid 19
March 28, 2020
Over the last month, we are finding every version of whatever we are about to post on social media on our Covid 19 response is immediately out of date.
One thing is very clear – your property journey does not need to cease – sellers are still going to sell, and buyers still want to buy. With you, we are adapting to a new version of normal every day.
Christine Shaw Properties is aware our collective responsibility, incorporating social distancing requirements, is to make sure what we do as a business is not impacting on the health of our extended family and friends and clients, or to our own health. The greater good is very important, and thinking as a village, and not being individualist, is paramount to all of us getting through the coming months successfully.
With this in mind, Christine Shaw Properties has a number of practical strategies in place to deliver the very best service to our sellers and buyers during this time.
We are still selling properties for our clients, ideally as vacant properties when this is practical for sellers. Buyers are still purchasing, and we are here to help you achieve the very best sale price.
Private Viewings: Pre-booked viewings will occur at 30 minute intervals, so buyers are not rushed. If you have taken the step to leave your home to visit a property for sale, we believe you are serious and need sufficient time onsite. Attendees are to wear the provided gloves and use antibacterial wipes when required on site. Bathroom facilities will naturally have antibacterial soap, so please wash your hands thoroughly when you visit. All door handles and touch points will be wiped down by the agent after each private viewing. A sample of the items available at each home is shown in the attached photo.
Virtual Viewings: Some buyers will be comfortable with a Facebook or zoom video walk-through with Christine or Gillian, and we can easily coordinate this time according to your diary.
Method Of Sale: The decision whether auction or private treaty (for sale) is best will be determined on a case-by-case basis with each owner.
While traditional Auctions on-site are no longer allowed, we are fortunate that technology can facilitate live-streaming of auctions, and video links for Facebook and other software links.
Buyers can be confident this new type of normal can be seamlessly working on Auction Day, with trial runs being tested before Auction Day so each buyer is comfortable.
Thanks to Allhomes: our friends at Allhomes have advised that if a property is not selling, they will “rest” the listing (which means taking it off the web temporarily), and allow it to return to the web portal at a different time for no added cost. This is a huge benefit – as Christine Shaw Properties never sells at just any price, we only ever sell at the very best price. If resting is the best strategy, we will advise you.
Rest assured, Christine and Gillian are here to discuss your property sale requirements in this ever-changing market – and we will honestly tell you if holding off is best, or if selling now is best, depending on your personal circumstances.
Hugs – from a distance.
Christine, Gillian, Kate and Michele
